Back Of The Pack wins at Cork yet again
The feature race on tonight’s card at Cork the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Chase went to the Colin Kidd trained, Davy Russell ridden, Back Of The Pack at the generous odds of 10/1.
The 9yo daughter of Anshan, took up the running from the third fence and fought off all challengers to win by two and a half lengths at the finish, with Royal Choice back in second.
The well supported 10/11fav Coscorrig had here chance but couldn’t land a blow as she finished a disappointing third.
The second favourite Aura About You (3/1) for trainer Paul Nolan, was pulled up quickly by her jockey Barry Geraghty on the run to the fourth last.
Winning trainer Colin Kidd said afterwards, “What can you say about her, she is stones better around here than anywhere else, that’s her fourth win here.
"I’m not sure where we will go next, maybe to Down Royal for the Galway Plate trial in around three weeks time before going for a tilt at the Galway Plate.
“She is rated so much higher over fences than hurdles because she is just so much better over them.
“Davy (Russell) said he has never sat on one like her to jump.”
