Babe lands Tramore finale
Top point-to-point mare Burnt Oil Babe has really found her form in recent times under rules and her form figures now read 121 after she landed the Tom Carroll Memorial Handicap Steeplechase under Barry Cash at Tramore.
The Willie Murphy-trained daughter of Beneficial, owned by the Fighting Cocks Mob Syndicate, beat off Isourbell (2nd here yesterday as well) by three parts of a length in a conclusion the handicapper would have been proud of (lots with chances at the business end).
Murphy said: "She is a very good jumper but it got nervy after the last. She doesn't want to get to the front too soon. She has lots of experience but it was a great ride from Barry."
