Aura returns to form
Aura About You (11/1), third to Quevega in the 2009 David Nicholson Mares Hurdle, bounced back from a disappointing seasonal reappearance here last month to take the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Beginners Chase .
The daughter of Supreme Leader was always up with the pace and, with favourite Shirley Casper throwing down a challenge in the straight, kept on best on the run-in for Michael Doran to score by three lengths.
Winning trainer Paul Nolan was represented by his brother James who said: “We were worried before the last day that she was not sparkling in her work. Whatever that run did for her last time, she's been sparkling since. We were thinking of packing her off to stud before that. Jumping is the main thing with her, and she may go now for the Grade 3 Dawn Run Mares Novice Chase at Limerick on March 13.”
