Aughaloor impresses at Fairyhouse
Aughaloor under Paul Townend, completed an across-the-card double for trainer Willie Mullins in the Bobbyjo Bistro Maiden Hurdle at Fairyhouse today, quickening well to win on his hurdle debut.
Townend was patient on the son of Supreme Leader, chosing to wait until the approach to the final flight to produce his challenge, eventually hitting the front inside the final furlong for a cosy win over Lord Redsgirth
Mullins was represented by his assistant Harold Kirk who stated “we think he’s a very good horse who could go to the very top, He will be aimed at the three miles novice at Cheltenham as he stays, jumps and goes on any ground. He has just been a bit unfortunate not to have realised his full potential so far.” Sir Vincent was an earlier winner for Mullins at Tramore.
