The Damian English trained Ask Dad provided apprentice jockey Donagh O'Connor with his first winner of the season when landing the KC Civil Engineering Supporting Naas Hurling Handicap at Naas today.
The son of Intikhab went in pursuit of clear leader Longfield Lad inside the final furlong and in the end edged ahead close home, for a head win.
Afterwards English stated "I fancied him big time on Saturday, and he seems to be getting more and more confident. Donagh gave him a great ride.
"He's a much different horse to last year, and has come on again in confidence as much as anything.
"He's entered in the Curragh on Friday, and we'll see how he is in the morning before deciding anything. I think he can win a nice pot this season."
