Connections of Arcadian Sunrise are taking full advantage of the Red Mills/Irish EBF-sponsored Auction Hurdle Series as the gelding earned his latest cheque with a win in another leg, a two miles novice hurdle, at Leopardstown today.
The son of Arcadio won a series-sponsored maiden hurdle at Thurles in January before filling third in another leg at Naas last month and today, under regular rider Denis O'Regan, beat runner-up Barnaviddaun to bring his series earnings to €26,000.
The John Queally trained six year old qualified as a €13,000 3yo purchase from the 2017 Tattersalls August Sale and kept his 'qualifications' when later failing to sell for £48,000 at the 2019 Cheltenham December Sale, having won a Carlisle bumper the previous month.
Following the gelding's third career success today, trainer Queally said “he'll have a little break now as he's been busy.
“He'll go for the final at Punchestown and he'll go jumping fences after that, next season.
“It's a pity his half-sister, Maries Rock (unbeaten in three runs for Nicky Henderson), went wrong.”
