San Antonio asserted in fine style to open his account on his return to action at Dundalk this evening, leading home a one-two for Ballydoyle in the ten furlong maiden.
The Aidan O'Brien-trained Dubawi colt tracked the leaders under Wayne Lordan before being driven up to challenge two furlongs from home.
He grabbed the lead over a furlong from home and galloped on strongly in the closing stages to post a three-and-three-quarter length win over stablemate Cape Bridgewater
The 10/3 winner had been third in testing conditions at Gowran Park when last seen in October.
Stable representative Chris Armstrong said: "It's nice to get the winner. Wayne gave him a lovely ride.
"He had two runs last year, he was unlucky the last time in Gowran when he just got caught late on.
"He is a horse that is going to stay well this year, this is probably going to be his minimum.
"He's one to look forward to and we will fit him into the trial programme and see how he progresses.
"He is going the right way and we are looking forward to him later in the year."
