- Another winner at Fairyhouse for Berry/Moran
Another winner at Fairyhouse for Berry/Moran
Fairyhouse is becoming a very happy hunting ground for John Berry and Robbie Moran and the Wexford pair were again on the mark at the Co. Meath venue when Mick The Tooth fought-off red-hot favourite, Cadspeed by a head in the Christmas Party At Fairyhouse Maiden Hurdle.
The point-to-point winner led turning in but his number looked to be up when Cadspeed arrived there under Paul Townend, cruising. He was slightly in front when he pecked at the last and that gave Mick The Tooth another chance. He didn't need to be asked twice and he stayed on doggedly to win with a ten length gap back to the third placed Cheer Up
Berry said: "He's not bad and he's just been unlucky. The last day in his bumper a horse galloped into him. He'll go for a winners race over Christmas. My brother Mick owns and bred him."
Coolpotts and Cara Mara have also scored for Berry and Moran in recent times at Fairyhouse. Whos To Know was another winner that Berry has saddled at this venue.
