Consistent filly Curraheen Princess (11/2) registered a sixth career win today, as the five-furlongs specialist landed Navan's P.F. 'Mutt' Conlon Memorial Handicap for trainer Nick Stokes and jockey Joe Doyle.
Runner-up on three previous runs, the daughter of Prince Of Lir turned the tables on recent Bellewstown conqueror Tide Of Time beating that rival into second-place, by three parts of a length.
Trainer Stokes said “she's very straightforward and we do nothing with her. She eats, sleeps, sprints and that's it. She doesn't pull or drag, hacks away at home and she's a pleasure to have.
“We'll probably go to the Curragh now for the Joe McGrath Handicap (September 24th) and hopefully this doesn't wreck my chances there.
“The recent rain was a great help as she definitely prefers a bit of cut, and she likes it here.”
