Jim Bolger kept up a good recent run of form when Tidal Action prevailed in a tight finish to the concluding maiden at Navan this afternoon.
The Cape Cross filly came into the mile-five contest with a rating of 69 having chased home The Tooth Fairy at Galway last month and most recently been fourth at Gowran behind King Pellinor.
Kevin Manning settled the 7/1 shot mid-division today before driving her into contention passing the furlong marker.
There was little between three in the closing stages but Tidal Action found most close home to prevail by a head from Born By The Sea with a length back to 6/4 favourite Pienta
Manning said afterwards:- “The horses are running very well. She’s a progressive filly and handled that ground.
“She was tough and stayed going. She’s a filly that stays well and will probably get even further. Hopefully there is a little bit more to come.”
