Angel doubles Power's score
Robbie Power completed a 389/1 double when he galvanised Bostons Angel into one last effort to go and catch Cadspeed who had looked sure to score in the Navan Ford European Breeders Fund Maiden Hurdle.
Power had earlier landed the opener on Shanrod for Michael Halford but he looked likely to have to settle for a minor prize when the big two in the betting, Cadspeed and Perfect Smile lined-up to battle it out at the second last. However the latter landed wrong and lost all chance, eventually pulling up.
Jumping right didn't help Cadspeed's cause but he looked like he'd done enough until both the winner and The Kings Sword came at him on the run-in, the latter being a further head adrift of the half a length winner.
Winning trainer, Jessica Harrington said: "He didn't jump a hurdle at Thurles the last day and he was still there at the second last. He has been schooled intensively since and he is a chaser in the making."
