- Ambition changes Martin's fortune
Ambition changes Martin's fortune
Trainer Tony Martin experienced a welcome change of luck in the John F. McGuire Beginners Chase at Listowel today when his Another Ambition (14/1) defeated two better fancied rivals to win under Denis O'Regan.
Another Ambition battled gamely in the straight to see off 9/4f Penny's Bill by a length and a quarter with Larkwing (5/2) back in third.
Afterwards Martin, in his conversation with members of the press, quipped “I'd forgotten what it was like to talk to ye - my luck had been so s!”
He added “my horses weren't firing since before Galway but hopefully they have turned a corner now. Experience helped Another Ambition win today and we'll aim him for a winners' race next, maybe in Britain where those races can be less competitive.”
