Altior's half-sister Bellatior (10/11f) won on debut at Naas today, completing a double for her trainer Gordon Elliott in the concluding Irish Stallion Farms EBF (Mares) Bumper.
By Walk In The Park and out of Monte Solaro, the four year old filly was a €300,000 at the Derby Sale in August 2020 and while racing keenly today, responded well when asked for effort by jockey Jamie Codd in the straight, eventually getting the better of experienced Kilbarry Chloe
Elliott, earlier successful with impressive winner Teahupoo later said “she’s a little bit hot but she’s very nice. She’s going to be good.
“She was keen but to pick up and go as she did was good.
“We’ll take our time with her and probably leave her now until the spring.”
Bellatior's illustrious half-brother Altior, by High Chapparal, won two Champion Chases in a 26-race career which yielded 21 wins, ten coming at Grade 1 level.
