Trainer Gordon Elliott and owner Gigginstown House Stud are bagging winners with devastating regularity at present and the combination again linked up with jockey Jack Kennedy to win the Racing On New Years Day Beginners Chase at Fairyhouse today, with chasing debutante Woods Well
Woods Well was the seventh winner in the past three days’ racing in Ireland for Elliott and Michael O’Leary’s Gigginstown House Stud, with Kennedy steering six of those horses to their respective successes.
Following Woods Well’s latest win, Elliott, who has trained no less than 20 winners in the last three weeks, later commented “he’s a grand honest horse and is probably more a three-mile chaser. He jumps and he tries.
“He might not be a Graded horse and he could be more of a handicapper.”
