Allen excels on Colls
Colls Corner who failed to justify favouritism on his last three starts, got it right in the Lisronagh Novice Handicap Chase despite jumping left the whole way.
Trainer, Michael 'Trixie' Barry, a Fermoy-based auctioneer, was particularly thankful for the efforts of rider Johnny Allen, who had to straighten his mount after a mistake two out - he drifted out markedly to his left after the blunder.
To his credit though, Colls Corner found plenty to beat Gentleman Jim by two and a half lengths.
Gamble of the contest, Rossbeigh (at least 11/2 in the morning into 7/2), with Ruby Walsh up, could manage only fifth. Meanwhile morning favourite, Flemensford (traded around the 3/1 mark this morning and ended up 13/2) finished last.
