Allannahs Gold prevailed on the run-in to claim the concluding maiden hunters chase at Fairyhouse this afternoon.
Derek O'Connor had the 4/1 shot to the fore throughout and he fought it out with Sizingdowntherhine going to the final fence.
The Golden Tornado gelding found more on the run to the line to record a three-parts-of-a-length win. Timewaitsfornoone the 9/10 favourite, got outpaced turning for home before staying on again in the closing stages to take third.
Allannahs Gold came into the race in winning form having landed a winners of one at Nenagh last month.
We got things our own way in front, and he’s a grand fun horse,” said the winning rider.
“Declan (junior) fancied Alan Fleming’s horse as he’d won on him down in Aghabullogue and I’d won on this horse for Declan so that’s how I came to ride it.”
