All goes to plan for Noble Prince
Noble Prince outclassed his two rivals in a muddling affair to land the Grade 3 Ben Dunne Gyms Supporting Kildare GAA Poplar Square Chase at Naas under Davy Russell (his 50th winner of the campaign) at odds of 1/3.
The Jewson hero from Cheltenham was conceding 9Ibs to both Jigalo and Osirixamix but he proved easily up to that task, extending away from the last with the minimum of effort to beat his first-named opponent by four and a half lengths.
Winning trainer Paul Nolan said: "It's nice to have his first run over with. When the ground is soft you're a bit worried. Anyhow, there is no point harping on about the ground – when they get to a certain age they have to take on the winter horses.
"Davy said that was hard to assess there against lesser opposition. On soft ground we wouldn't step him up in trip.
"He is in the Paddy Power at Cheltenham off eleven stone two and we'll have a look at that and see what happens.
"We'll also look at all those two mile races for him.
"It's nice to get him off the mark and hopefully he'll be 100 per cent afterwards. He had a nice school around there." (EM)
