The Ger Lynch-trained Alaliya pounced late to grab the spoils in the Corrib Oil Handicap Hurdle at Ballinrobe.
3/1 favourite Let's Twist Again looked to have matters in control when hitting the front after the second last but was mowed down late on in the three-mile one-furlong contest.
Alaliya gave chase going to the final flight and found another gear on the run-in to assert close home and record a half-length win under Liam Gilligan.
It was a second winner for the 7lb claimer, who had opened his account at Sligo earlier in the month.
It was a first winner since September 2013 for Lynch and he said:- “That was badly needed - Rock On Barney has been placed three times and Miss McIlroy should have won last week but it's worth it when it comes.
"She'll be entered in the four year old hurdle at Listowel next and if it comes up soft I'll run her."
