Alabelle upsets odds-on jolly

The Jim Bolger trained Alabelle caused a 14/1 upset in the Roscommoracecourse.ie Fillies Maiden at Roscommon today.

Two Galileo bred fillies fought out the finish with Alabelle, under Bolger’s stable jockey Kevin Manning, proving half a length too good for 8/11 favourite Kasanka

Bolger was absent but travelling head lad Ger Flynn did later say “it’s nice to get a win into her - she was due it and has been knocking on the door lately. Kevin said she was very brave to handle the ground but she would prefer it better.”
