Ainama bolts in for Maddens double
The ex-Nicky Henderson trained Ainama put up a taking performance, in the Mallow Hurdle, to win on his debut for Niall ‘Boots’ Madden, who along with his son Niall ‘Slippers’, recorded a double at Cork today.
Madden Jnr appeared confident of success throughout, on the son of Desert Prince, who moved through to lead before the final flight. Ainama proceeded to jump the final flight as if it were the first, and quickened impressively for a hard-held nine lengths win over Liss Na Tintri
Afterwards Madden Snr, earlier successful with Salesin reported “I have Ainama since June and the manner in which he won surprised me. He wasn’t working brilliantly and I was more hopeful than confident he would win – I’ve no plans from here.”
