Adiynara scores under Murtagh drive

The Michael Halford-trained Adiynara proved game under Johnny Murtagh to open her account in the Median Auction Maiden at Ballinrobe.

The Aga Khan filly took over from front-runner Majestic Pearl with three furlongs to run but was soon tackled by the well supported Jouster (11/4 in morning into 5/4f).

Murtagh's mount refused to relinquish her lead, however, and stuck at her work gamely to record a neck success.

"She did well from a wide draw and battled well when the favourite came to her," said Halford afterwards.

"It's nice to get a winning bracket and the step back up in trip here suited."
