Adilapour doubles Oxx's score
Long Live The King (post race normal) was a bitterly disappointing 2/5 favourite for the Irish Stallion Farms European as his Ballydoyle stable companion Pirate Chest almost stepped into the breach but ultimately he failed by a short head to the newcomer Adilapour at Gowran.
Completing a double for the Aga Khan and John Oxx, Adilapour didn't go unbacked as he found 12/1 from 20s. He just got up on the line to beat Pirate Chest who had drifted badly to his left.
Slim O'Neill said: "He is a nice horse and did it well and he'll improve. The fourth horse Dubawi Star was unlucky in running."
Ben Curtis, the winning rider now rejoins Gary Carroll at the head of the apprentice table.
