Graignamanagh's Danny Sheehy landed the preceding heat at Dundalk and it was another jockey from the County Kilkenny village that was on the mark in the sixth event on the polytrack. Shane Foley brought up a double for his boss, Michael Halford, aboard Yamato in the Irishinjuredjockeys.com Handicap.
Earlier a winner with the Robert Smithers-ridden Dark Alliance here Halford saw 9/1 chance Yamato storm home to get the better of Live Twice
The latter wasn't helped by edging a bit to her right in the final furlong, whilst favourite Appointment Only finished well to be a neck back in third.
"He had some good runs. We weren't always certain that he gets a mile so I told Shane to drop in and hope they go hard," said Halford.
"It worked out right on the night for him as they went a good gallop early on. He settled away and did well to get the gaps.
"He has threatened to do that. He's very straight-forward and we'll keep going with him."
