Brian O'Connell completed a 231/1 Fairyhouse double when getting Liz Doyle's outsider Lord Alfie home in the Follow Fairyhouse On Facebook Handicap Chase.
Earlier successful aboard John Joe Walsh's Push The Button (when that one beat Doyle's Rafi De Triana , O'Connell kept owner/breeder Marcella O'Gorman's Lord Alfie going long enough to hold off Easy Vic by a head, having led before the last.
Liz Doyle explained: "He won a point-to-point three years ago. He got a leg then and he's just been struggling on the heavy stuff."
J P McManus' Micks was the gamble here on track (11s into 6s) but he ended up pulling up in the straight. (GC & EM)
