20/1 Outsider takes last at the Curragh
The concluding race on this afternoon’s card, the www.curragh.ie Nursery Handicap caused a surprise when the 20/1 outsider Newpark Rio from the Emmanuel Hughes stable came home in front under Niall McCullagh.
Winning trainer Hughes stated, “We were just waiting for the soft ground. He’s had a hard enough year so we’ll give him a little break now and possibly go for the Birdcatcher at Naas later in the year.”
