129/1 treble for O'Connell in incident packed race
If young Kildare rider Eddie O'Connell, a recent recruit to agent Niall Cronin, thought things couldn't get any better after partnering City Hustler and Vivaldi to victory, he was wrong, as he galvanised the latter's stable companion, Yachvili into a winning run in the Ladbrokes.com Handicap Hurdle at Ballinrobe.
Jimmy Lambe 's Xaar gelding led before the last and he went away to beat Scenic Bay by four and a half lengths to complete a near 129/1 treble for O'Connell (the first of his career).
Unfortunately the well-bred mare Quidem Meus broke her shoulder after a fall at the third hurdle (that flight was bypassed next time around) and the veteran Premier Hero was another fatality, pulling up before the fourth (broke a leg).
