Tom proves poignant winner
Wooly Tom left his previous form well behind to run out a cosy winner on his handicap debut at Gowran Park. Sun 24th Jun
he ran his heart out and was a great old servant but at least this will soften the blow a bit. He (Wooly Tom) did well to keep going on that ground; I put cheek-pieces on him but was doubting myself this morning, as I thought he'd run too free on the ground. The fact he wasn't carrying a lot of weight was a help too.
Patrick Mooney
Wooly Tom settled really well today but is still learning. He is quite an energetic horse and just needs to learn to switch off in his races. Long-term he'll make a lovely chaser and while he'll be very good over fences at some stage, I'd hate to ruin him by running him over fences too soon.
Patrick Mooney
