Dundalk treble for Berry
Sunwise continued the good run of John Oxx and topped off a good evening for jockey Fran Berry who recorded a treble when coming home in front of the Crowne Plaza Race & Stay Package. Fri 09th OctOxx One Two as Berry Doubles Up
In first time cheek-pieces Sunwise, an 8/1 shot, beat his stable-companion, the 4/5 favourite, Pittoni, by a short-head after a protracted battle for the Clonard Maiden to give trainer John Oxx a one two. After an earlier win on Duff, this victory on Sunwise completed a 44/1 double for jockey Fran Berry. Thu 11th Jun
After race at Leopardstown Thu, 11th Jun, 2009 (1st)
It was a pity to have to run the two of them in the one race. There aren't many opportunities for three-year-old maidens. Sunwise liked the distance and the ground and the ground probably beat Pittoni. He shouldn't be too long a maiden.
John M Oxx
