I was nervous for a moment but he said if he had to pull him up to go wide, it would have sickened the horse so he kept chancing the inside. He got a good ride, loves that ground and it couldn't be heavy enough for him. He won this race last year, is a great honest horse and keeps pulling out every day. He had a nice second last week and while he got stopped, wouldn't have won. He'll go to the Curragh on Sunday for either a E50,000 mile handicap or another race over seven furlongs. I'll chat with the owners and decide.

he was unlucky at the festival in 2021 when he got no luck in running and didn't win until he got heavy ground at Killarney last October. After that I bought him back for £4,000 at Doncaster sales. Ben liked him the few times he had ridden him and was disappointed he hadn't won on him up until now. There's a 1m2f handicap at Naas on Sunday and we'll see how he is.

He’s settling better with the hood.

I thought I'd have won a maiden with him before now and Colin liked him there and said he'd improve from it. He hasn't run for a while so I was worried and the softening ground told on his fitness as Colin said he took a blow a furlong down. I'm hoping there is improvement there and he could go jumping. Colin said he loves the softer ground.
