I'm delighted with him. I was nervous about the race going into to it, more so than his last few Group runs, as I knew it would be a tactical affair,.
A Oliver
He disappointed at the Curragh and there was no reason for it so we decided to put the blinkers on. But, even though he's won, it seems the blinkers didn't work as Chris was hard at work as soon as they jumped out.
A Oliver
That was a fantastic performance, and he's a horse that has surpassed himself. Consolation to Chris who missed the ride, and he has done all the work in previous races. I had a couple of concerns of which the draw was one as he's a horse that likes a strong pace. Fran was a very able substitute and gave him a great ride. When he got to the front he did it well. There are a couple of big handicaps at Leopardstown on Champions weekend, although even with the three-year-old allowance he would still probably have top weight. You are stepping into a different class of race. I'll look at where he'll go in consultation with Team Valor. He wasn't the easiest horse at the start of the year. He was gelded and he likes his own routine and loves his day out. I was nervous enough coming here today.
A Oliver
he did it well and Chris gave him a great ride. It was nice and straightforward and he just hit the front and picked up the pace as he liked. He loves the fast ground and is progressing as a three year old and will get a mile and a half. He's a big strong sound horse and is enjoying his racing and we'll keep him at what he likes. Hurdling won't be high on the agenda of the syndicate which owns him but he certainly could be a horse for that in the future. He's in again at Roscommon on Monday but it depends on how the handicapper treats him.
A Oliver
