Captain Power wins Claimer, goes unclaimed
I thought at the start of the year the way he was handicapped that he’d win one. He ran well in a lot of them but he didn’t win any so we dropped him down to a claimer and we handicapped him ourselves. He’s been a good horse to us and has won half a dozen. If someone claims him they will get plenty of fun out of him and if they don’t we’ll run him again somewhere. It’s nice to get another win with him.
McGuinness' gambled Warrior dips into bookies' satchels
we got dropped 3lb early in the week and I wasn’t going to run her; there is another nursery here in three weeks time but she was that low that she wouldn’t have got in. She was last in today and I said 'I have to run her', even though she was 3lb wrong. I think she’s a smart little filly. We might run here again in three weeks but if we feel it has taken a lot out of her we’ll put her away till next year. We thought she was a really nice filly early in the year and fancied her first time in a maiden and she ran free. She’s matured a lot and grown a lot, and will be a nice filly for next year. The lads (Total Recall Racing Club) have been very lucky with me and I think we’ve had about 26 winners, and nearly every horse I’ve got them, bar one, has won. Hopefully she’ll replace the likes of Beau Satchel as he’s coming near the end of his career. She’ll be a nice filly for that three-year-old only at Galway next year; they like Galway!

Confrontational continues Murphy's winning spell
he’d a good run in Laytown last time and has dropped to a more favourable mark. I’d imagine he’ll keep going here through the winter as he loves the surface and enjoys it up here. Shane gave him a good ride as he raced a bit lazy turning out of the back straight but did it well in the end. We had a quiet time through the mid-summer as there was a bit of sickness through the yard but at the end of the year we’ve had a good time. We’d a few winners here last week, and will try and keep it going if we can. We’ve a couple of nice two-year-olds still to run here this year. They were a bit backward and didn’t get out on grass. They should give some of the maidens here a rattle.
Voyageofdiscovery gains fifth career success
his Thurles run was a good run but he’s tricky and you can’t hit him. He enjoyed that and had alright form here before. It will be more of the same.
Dream Sleep gains poignant win at Dundalk
that’s her second run for me and my thanks and condolences to Chris Hayes. He was to ride her tonight but sadly his mother has passed away. He did a very nice job on her and told me to put a visor on. Gary substituted well but it’s a bitter sweet one for him too because they are pals. This is a very well-bred filly and it was important that I made her a winner as she will be going to stud. She might have one more run.
Champion Apprentice's claim is reduced to 5lbs following Dundalk double
she disappointed us the last twice in handicaps but she had solid maiden form and had a good run here earlier this year so we knew she handled it. That's my 7lb claim gone now.
