Hogan completes Dundalk double
in fairness to Dan King, he gave him a peach the last day and got his confidence up. That often turns horses inside out and you saw it there. Denis (Hogan) said to me to ride him with loads of confidence and he won how he liked, to be honest. He's a grand horse and he always worked well, I think it was more confidence with him than anything else. You'd be happy with him after that going forward. I've only ever ridden him once, in Clonmel and he didn't finish out at all, but riding him that way (from off the pace) and winning the last day all helps.
McConnell taking no credit for Inflection's success
he's a grand horse, was down to a good mark and had a nice run the last day. The strong pace suited as he had something to aim at and still probably got there a little bit soon. We left off all the headgear, that was the only change we did; he used to be very straightforward and he came to us in good nick. I'm delighted for the lads (Saturday Night Racing Syndicate) and Siobhan. We will be busy up until Christmas and then take a breather for a few days. We seem to be getting one winner every week or nearly every week, so it is going well.
Well-supported Livingston Range scores for Breen
I don't know how much more we will keep going with him but we were happy enough to get one and Mark (Enright) gets on very well with him. We might put him away and tip away for the likes of races at Navan where he has got the stiff hill; in a higher grade he might be there to be shot at against horses with more of a turn of foot. I have a full yard, thank God, we'll keep going and changed them over a good bit because of the handicapping. We'd love to get some new owners in as well.
Consecutive wins for Cold Steel
it looked competitive and there were horses with plenty of recent form in it. I was a wee bit afraid of the bounce factor, he had been off so long and came back and won. everything went well and Billy gave him a nice ride. I thought he was headed within the last furlong, but he came back again which is a good sign of a battling horse. I don't think we are going to rush back too soon. He's a lovely looking horse, great size and great body to him so we will probably try and look after him.
