Mount Ruapehu makes the breakthrough in Cork opener
We only have one horse, we're farmers from Rosegreen (Tipperary) and we have trained all the family. We train him on his own but is fairly straightforward and is a typical sprinty colt who can be buzzy at times. We bred him and the last time we had a winner at Cork was in a maiden with his dam Katla. She was a Listed winner three years in-a-row and we're delighted with him as he had been running fierce consistently. He could run over six (furlongs) again but the five could be the key to him, the cut in the ground helped and he also liked the track - those three things came together. There isn't much for him now but the winter will fly by as he'll be a lovely horse next year. My father is at Goffs and we're selling a yearling filly by Kodiac at the Orby Sale tomorrow.

'Special talent' doubles-up aboard Indiana Grey
She didn't miss the kick which she invariably does and had a good draw today, having had lousy draws for a while. The rain also helped as she needs an ease. I know she is effective in Dundalk but I've always felt she needs a bit of ease. She isn't that big but is heavy-topped and hits the ground hard. She was down to the bottom mark and was in danger of going out of the system. It is a very cruel game here in Ireland as if you go down to 40 and run bad, you are out of the system because you won't get into a race. That's where she was today. We are looking at a very good jockey and a special talent.
Queen completes double for Murphy
That is a great result for Mudassar Rafiq (winning owner) and the lads as it is a family owned winner. They are from Pakistan and are mad into racing. She has been knocking on the door for a while and the step up in trip, with the juice in the ground helped her out. Hopefully she will get confidence from that.
