Randall's Alannah picks off favourite
It was a lucky bit of placing! A lot of lads would say they had it planned for six months. It's great for the owner Finbarr Kelly as he bred her as well. He has a couple of half sisters at home. I'm not sure if they'll go to the sales, but if they do this win will help. She'll go for a handicap in three weeks time. We won't get carried away with ourselves.
Measured Approval stamps his authority
Victory for Veale
Ted Veale is not too bad but he got ran off his feet first time over hurdles at Galway the last day. I've always liked him though and he could go back over hurdles now, before possibly going for a Flat handicap. Down the road he could make a nice chaser and should develop into a good handicapper under all codes.
Busy Berry motoring with Sligo double
Kelly strikes again at Sligo
He was a bit unlucky the last day. He was bumped at a corner and should have won [second at Perth on August 1]. We just decided to enter him up for a maiden and it cut up badly so we had a bit of luck. He'll probably go to Killarney and he'll be better over fences as he has plenty of scope. It's nearly easier for me to bring horses to England than in Ireland. My nearest track is Down Royal, an hour away and the ferry is an hour away from me.
In-foal Lady Olwyn wins again
That was straightforward enough. She jumped and travelled nearly too well. She is tough and she has finally done what we thought she would do. She's a brilliant jumper for a small mare. We have two or three weeks left racing with her as she is in foal to Gold Well. She is in at Kilbeggan on Friday in a two mile six handicap hurdle and I wouldn't rule it out depending on what the handicapper does.
High Way Hunter in 20/1 shock
It wasn't a classy race. I only have her two months, but the trip is the key to her. She'll jump a fence and probably go for a mares beginners chase.
