He is one of those horses that once he is dropped by the handicapper, he has his chance. The handicapper has been quite hard on him for some of his wins. He was quite keen today and got to the front too soon. Hopefully he won't be claimed now.

It looked like a competitive enough race beforehand. Ben gave him a super ride. We decided to settle off the pace today and he picked up well. We will see what the handicapper does with him now. He is not lacking in pace and will go for a race between a mile to a mile and two furlongs next.

Leroy does it well despite late drift

I'd say the ground is important to him. He didn't travel that well in Galway but the trip (of a mile) might have been a bit too short for him there. If the ground is easy he could go to Wexford on Friday. He is from the same family as Nomadic, who also wanted soft ground. His owner Joe Kirwan is from Clane and also has Prima Vista with me.
