McAuley's a dab hand in claimers as he saddles one-two
Sligo winner 'furthers' Flare's form
he got away nicely and with no stalls that’s going to be crucial. Once he got out there, he was always going to stay. He handles all types of ground and ran well the last day (fourth at Listowel), he just ran into a couple. He’s been knocking on the door and the conditions of this race really suited him
McCullagh and Collins collect with Noirvento
She enjoyed the cut in the ground, she's all heart and I think she’s good for another one. she’s such a consistent filly and has the most amazing owners, the Altar Ego Syndicate, they’re a fantastic bunch of people and have been great patrons of mine. She just doesn’t know when she has enough. She’s a very honest filly, she’s limited but she gives her heart and soul every time. She was always going to finish strongly there and that’s five she’s won now.
Kodiqueen continues Murphy's winning spree
she won here as a three-year-old so we were looking for a race that we could bring her back for. We were a bit unsure about the flag start, whether with cheekpieces and a tongue-tie, she would jump off on terms. The plan was to be very positive on her and in fairness to Gary, they were going to cut each other’s throats in front and he took a little pull and he followed them around. She kind of won the same way here as a three-year-old, so it worked out great. We’ll go for something similar, that’s her grade.
Consecutive Sligo wins for Dolce Sicily
it was absolute carnage out there and we were scundered with (slow-starting stablemate) Adams Barbour in the race before. This filly was entitled to come on from the last run and she loves it here. It’s very similar to the gallop we have in at home, the same design. They handle it well and it’s been a lucky track for us. She did a couple of false jumps at the start and Leigh (Roche) just said it had taken a fair bit out of her and he was wondering would she get home but she did. We’ll freshen her up now and find something else.
McConnell ends quiet spell with Sligo win
Roche completes double with in-foal Divine Celt
I’m delighted for the owners (the Callanans) and she had good form last year. She was a very expensive foal (100,000gns) and yearling (€150,000) and to get a win for her pedigree is all-important. She’s in foal to Phoenix Of Spain so we’ll tip away for another while with her. We’ll see what the handicapper does, she’s gone up a good few pounds already and if we can pick up another race along the way we will, but the job is done this evening. It was a brilliant ride by Leigh and he was very confident on her.
Scott makes it a winner apiece for the McCullaghs
