Butterfly gets the job done
We were on a hiding to nothing as if you don't win you're an eejit and if you win, sure you should have!. Billy said she just idled but to win is great as she is a very well bred filly. She is a half-sister to Diamond Green and is the last filly out of the mare and Maurice Burns in Rathasker Stud bred her. She'd prefer a little ease but I had to run her as there were only three declarations. However they have done a great job on the ground here and it's lovely. She was unlucky the last day, when beaten by two heads for third in a Listed race, and it's all about black-type now - black-type is the only thing we want now!
Grove gives McCreery & Lee double in style
Gal getting the hang of things
She has some bits and pieces of form and ran very well the last day but is still probably a bit raw,. She can go from a mile to 1m4f, is getting the hang of things now and I think there's another race in her. We'll go for something similar next.
Rashaan digs deep to edge Tipperary thriller
He's tough as teak and to think he ran in the Punchestown Champion Hurdle on Friday - we know from last summer that he takes his racing so well, he is brilliant,. He was only third entering the final furlong and just ground it out and never knows when he is beaten. He loves that ground and it's the key to him - that family all want that ground. He's not a Royal Ascot horse as we travelled him to Aintree and didn't settle in over there and didn't eat or drink. He ran unbelievably well considering he didn't settle in but we won't travel him again. There are plenty of big staying handicaps for him at home and the obvious race that comes to mind for him is the Amateur Handicap at Galway and he also has the option of one or two hurdle races also.
Micras gets up in another tight two-miler
She ran at Down Royal and discovered she had a problem with allergies - lots of horses have it and we treated her. It was all about getting her confidence back,. She is handicapped over fences now and will more than likely go for a similar flat handicap next but she'll have a break first.
Catch springs shock to gain 4th course win
He loves this place and that's his fourth win here. He loves the track and loves the ground,. It wasn't a surprise - we were expecting him to run well but thought he might need the run. He's a bit big in himself but maybe he was fitter than we thought. He'll go back jumping now although if something turns up on the flat we might be tempted by that, but we prefer the national hunt!
