Bishop successful on chase debut
Ruby was very good on him as he hasn't got the reputation of being a fantastic jumper. But he really put it up to the horse four out and the horse responded.
Mullins/Walsh have right Approach
He's a very hard horse to ride from behind but Ruby gave him a great ride.
Builder notches up a ton for Shark
That's my 100th winner excluding point-to-points, although for the last three weeks I thought it would never happen. He was entitled to win as he's been running well the whole time, and will probably run again at Gowran on Saturday. Brian said he'd plenty left in the tank and was idling in front.
Russell makes most of opportunity
Zaidpour easily completes Mullins/Walsh treble
It's grand to see him do that over two miles and six furlongs, and he seems to be stronger and happier than he was in the second half of last season. He'll probably go next for the Grade 2 Tara Hurdle at Navan, and will stay hurdling this season. I'm not sure which way we will go distance wise, and it's possible he could still drop back down in trip this season.
On My Own pleases the bookies
Russell doubles up on Times
I'm delighted for his owner Tim Conroy who has been absolutely brilliant to me. To be honest this horse is lucky to be alive as he has three pins in his cannon bone. He fell here last January but seemed to be fine afterwards. There must have been an underlying problem as we only discovered the injury a week later. Davy said he was lugging rather than hanging, and he did that when I won two bumpers on him. Hopefully he's okay in the morning, and we'll find a winners-of-one for him.
