Cromwell has big plans for ready-winner Brides Hill
She got an awful fright when she fell at Fairyhouse (in October) and it has taken her a long time to get confidence and, in her races since, has been slow to warm up over the opening fences. She came straight into it today and jumped brilliantly. We had given her a pop this morning, when she was very good and Paul Carberry actually schooled her on Saturday and got a good tune out of her. She isn't a winter-ground mare and is a lovely mare going forward for next year. It wouldn't have been the end of the world if she didn't win today as she'd have been a novice for next year, but now the Grade 1 Boylesports Gold Cup at Fairyhouse is a possibility.
O Mio Babbino delivered at right time by Burke-Ott
I bred her myself and her dam Baidin Fheilimi won three for me and, if this one could do the same, I'd be delighted. She has already won two point-to-points. She is in again next Thursday in Clonmel in a 0-95 chase and we'll see how she is. Andrew is having fierce success and everything he is riding seems to be winning. He rides the mare every day and I'm lucky to have him.
Union Park wins well for favourite backers
He was very fizzy in his earlier days and I thought he'd improve with racing, but it is only now he is starting to settle in the stable yard and in his races. We don't plait him and he is left to his own in his stable and is getting the hang of things now and is getting confident. Darragh (O'Keeffe, jockey) said his jumping is extremely good and he seems to be going the right way. This race, without being rude to it, broke up into an ordinary race and he was in off a nice weight.

Franciscan Rock gets his reward in Thurles
That wasn't before his time, but they still have to go and do it. In all his races, all he looked like doing was staying and had been beaten by better horses on the day. He seemed to handle today's ground well, but the ground might get a bit tight for him from now on. I'm more looking forward to next season with him for jumping fences.
