Finian's Oscar returns to winning ways at Aintree
He was always just in touch. He raced lazily. Initially, I'd think Punchestown is next. I don't think we're finished this year as he hasn't raced much. If he comes out of this OK I'm sure he'll have that option. He's a strong stayer and he's maybe a Hennessy (Newbury) horse (next season). He's a lovely horse.
Dream result in Juvenile Hurdle
He was a sick horse. There was not much of a question of missing it (Cheltenham). At the time it was frustrating missing it and I said to the boys we couldn't have gone there, but on the other hand maybe that was the best thing about that. Maybe he's a fresh horse. He was always enjoying himself there. He was fresh and well. But he was pretty sick. On that Monday morning his manger hadn't been touched and he had a temperature. We've had four weeks and that was quick enough. He is a good horse and that was a good performance, but none of the first three in the Triumph Hurdle have turned up. Let's sit back and enjoy that. He is unbeaten through the year and has won two Grade One races. He has got his life in front of him and has not stopped improving all season. That is it for the season.
Might Bite dominant in Betway Bowl at Aintree
The ground is on the soft side and he really does feel that. He's one who will actually die for you. I'm privileged to ride him. That was as good a round of jumping as you'll ever see. He was just on it the whole way - he was doing crazy things. The horse was just enjoying himself. He's been telling us he's right, but you just can't tell until you run them how much they have left in the Cotswolds (Cheltenham). That's obviously it for this season. We'll be a bit braver next year, though, and we might have a crack at the Betfair (Chase, Haydock). To defend the King George is the obvious one, but if the ground is reasonable we will think about starting in the Betfair on the way to the King George.

Balnaslow goes one better in Foxhunter
Balnaslow has been exceptionally well-trained by Graham McKeever. It's a tight unit and a small yard where he gets all the attention he needs and Graham has done a wonderful job on him. He has had a few problems. He had a chip in his knee and to get back to this stage is quite unbelievable. He doesn't go on soft or heavy ground, his best form is on good ground. Cheltenham was very testing for him. I went there thinking he was going to pull up. He did well to finish seventh there. He doesn't jump that last fence at Cheltenham. For some reason, something puts him off and he jumps it slow. We will see if he goes back to Punchestown, but hopefully he will. We will have to see how comes out of this.
Johnny Burke lands Red Rum on Bentelimar
He was a little bit brave to start with and then he got clumsy, but the cheekpieces woke him up. We've been thinking he's seriously well handicapped ever since he arrived from Ireland. It's taken its time, but he's shown it today. He'd been on the go all last summer in Ireland, running in the Galway Plate and the Kerry National, and all this winter here. I thought this might be one race too many for this season and he'd go and win first time out next season in a big chase. He didn't run any race over two and a half at Kempton last time, but I knew he was well handicapped to win a big race. He'll go out in the field now. It's great for Johnny. It's been a tough first year in England for him, but he tries very hard and he's proved he is top class.
