Dense Star off the mark in great style
She got her head in front. She's not the biggest in the world but she's tough, that's her seventh run of the season. I don't know whether the ground made a difference. I don't know about the all-weather last time but it was probably the ground the time before. The second to Steel Bull reads well. Mikey (Sheehy) said today she jumped out, travelled great and when he asked her she picked up well. It's the first time I've seen her quicken like that. She's rated 94 and we'll see what happens now. Knowing Joseph he'll put her in somewhere and with the pedigrees that these fillies he's got have it's important to get some black-type. She's a tough filly and might prefer a bit better ground. It's dead out there but it's the best ground she's run on for a while.
Mogwli rallies to give Jack Cleary his second winner
It's great for the young fella and great for the missus (wife Amanda) who bred him. We have a lovely Raven's Pass half-brother being broken at the moment. He broke well and there is lovely fresh ground down the rail. He just kept him happy and I thought the horse fought them off well but I thought we were just going to be caught on the line.

McCourt's Ecclesiastical rewards those who kept the faith
I thought he would have won long before now, he always showed us plenty at home. Maybe castrating him has helped. Colin said he was probably in front soon enough and he'd rather have been there a bit later. It's great to get the win out of him. We'll tip away and see what is coming up. He ran a bit disappointing in the handicap at Naas last time but it was his first handicap and as I said he probably needed castrating. We'll look for a handicap or maybe see if there is a winners of one coming up. It's good to get that out of the way anyway and it's good for the owner who is a great supporter.
65/1 double for Keane as Ebony Maw stays on well
. We were knocking on the door, finishing second, in the last couple of weeks so it's grand to get one before the weekend. He did that lovely and is a typical Iffraaj. He loved taking a lead and got to the front as late as he wanted to get there. He's still green as he hasn't got a lot of miles on the clock. That yielding ground is what he wants, he wouldn't want on the quick side of good, and his minimum trip is a mile-and-two. It's ten days since he ran after a break and he took a couple of blows so should improve for that. We've got his maiden out of the way and hopefully off his mark there is a nice handicap in him.
'Well-in' Baron Samedi keeps the winners flowing for Joseph
I suppose he was nearly a stone well in. Dylan (Browne McMnagle) said he has one kick. He said when he got inside the last furlong-and-a-half he gave him one flick and he took off, then he keeps galloping. I think he'll stay any trip. It was a nice bit of placing to win again and he's going to go up a few more pounds now. He's a big horse with a bit of scope so you wouldn't know where he'll stop. Dylan said he travelled better today than before and the penny is only dropping. He was a big backward horse.
Make that a 725/1 treble for 'main man' Keane
She's gradually been getting the hang of things and the trainer has gradually found what trip she wants as well. She's a big sparely made filly and we hope she is improving. We won't over-race her and then we'll put her away until next year. She's from quite a good family and is a sister to a black-type horse (Great Dancer, a maiden winner for Michael Halford and later Grade 3-placed at Belmont Park) so she has a bit of value as a broodmare anyway. There is still improvement in her and I'm delighted. It's another good ride from the main man.
