Moth enters classic picture
She did it well. We thought she was nice last year but she got beat a few times,. Obviously I was giving the wrong instructions and instead of making use of her she should have been held up. She's able to change gears. It was a slow run race and she came from behind which I imagine wouldn't have suited. She quickened up well. She could go for a trial or head straight to Newmarket for the Guineas. It depends on what happens.
Custom Cut takes Gladness at 25/1
I said coming here that it was a fact-finding mission so that tells us where we are at. We were delighted with his comeback run and not too worried by his run the last day. He showed in his work he could be competitive at this level and it's great he got the job done. It's great to have this type of horse for a small yard. We need a horse like him. There's a lovely programme for this type of horse. He had to make the step up today and thank God he did. He's never let us down. He didn't mind that ground today. It's onwards and upwards. He's in a Listed race [at Leopardstown] next week. We'll have to sit down and look at it. Ronan knows him well and won on him over course and distance. He kept at it and he's tough.
Maude Adams in fine fettle at Curragh
It's nice to get off the mark [for the season]. We'll keep it low-key with her. She's genuine and honest. That's her fourth win and she's been lucky. She's a good kids ride. He rode her well. He had nowhere to go and did the right thing going wide.
"Onwards and upwards" for Hall
.I've always had confidence in the horse but was a bit concerned about the ground and the fact that he had been off so long,.
A Tantalising finish at the Curragh
I'm delighted with that. She picked up a lot of cheques last year as she was placed a lot. I was wondering was she ever going to get her head in front. She was working well, but I was a bit concerned about her being ready as she was heavier on the scales, but she's more of a mare this year rather than a filly. She's by Saddlers Wells so she'll make a nice broodmare. We'll have to try and get some Blacktype as it would make her very valuable. Her attitude might get her there and we'll see what rating she gets. She doesn't have the toe for a mile and a quarter as she has got older. She wants between a mile and a half and two miles.
