Condon gives Prince a great drive
He's a very fit horse and he did it well. He's been running pretty consistent over fences. We'll play it by ear now and see where we'll go . we have no definite plans. He's in two of the handicaps at Cheltenham but I thought he had too much weight and I'd say he won't run. He battled away there today and he loves to get things his own way. He jumped very well. I don't know whether he'd be good enough for the likes of the Irish National, we'll see.
Dilshaan's lands the Naas spoils
That was great, just what we needed. He's a fair useful horse but he's been dogged by injury. Every time he's run something has happened to him. He came back from Listowel (his last appearance, a winner down there 173 days back) with a crack in a hind leg and he's just been very difficult. He'll go for another novice now and hopefully he'll stay sound. He wouldn't want the ground too quick. He was quite decent on the flat in France. He ran in a lot of listed races there and he was always there or there-abouts.
Shirley eventually makes the breakthrough
It's overdue. Good ground is the key to her and there's plenty of novices left for her. Once the ground dries up she'll improve a lot. The plan was to make it here. She's a two and a half mile mare really and she doesn't quicken that much but she goes a good pace and keeps it up.
Creek a result for the books in Naas Supporters
He was the owners (Michael A O'Riordan, also has Flat Out) first horse though he's been around for a while now. There was no chase for him for three weeks so we gave him a go here. The last day (5th at this track behind Rivage D'Or a fortnight back) he disappointed me but Alan wasn't disappointed with him and he insisted that we give him another go.
Night a Benefit for the bookmakers
That's the first time he's had a light weight like that and he loves it around here. He'll probably go for the Midlands National at Uttoxeter now. He has to go left-handed and that's been a problem all along as it limits where he can go. His run in the cross-country last time sweetened him up. He's only had three runs this season and this is his ground. He is a tough horse when he gets his own way. That'll keep the show on the road for a while!
Lambro doesn't disappoint
The drier ground seemed to make a difference. He'll go for a winners of one now. He is a nice recruit from the point-to-point field. Hopefully he'll win a few more on nicer ground.
4th time lucky for Charlie
He's been knocking on the door. He was unlucky in Hexham on his debut and he was very unlucky in Fairyhouse last time where I think he'd have won if he'd kept straight. We'll take him home now and see how he is. We'll see what direction we'll go then. He was in the sales but the owner was keen to consider Cheltenham. We'll see.
