Hugo takes opener at Punchestown
He did it well. Barry said that the ground is very very heavy. We might bring him to Limerick over the Christmas or we might wait for a bit longer with him.
Harrington in double form
Robert said he didn't want to go that fast but he was just taking him that fast. He's a brilliant jumper and Robert said he's better going left handed. He's just a real galloper and we'll probably bring him to Leopardstown over Christmas.
Walsh Father/Son score with Colbert Station
That was not a very competitive handicap and we'll take it as it comes. It's not very often you get an easy handicap on a Sunday at Punchestown and I'm delighted he won.
Joncol wins The John Durkan
It was probably the first time we were 100% happy with him today. He's on a different programme this year and different diet and it seems to have turned him inside out. He's a big horse and we were waiting for him to tell us when he's ready. He might not have been able for the training last year. He's still only six and if he's ok after today we'll aim for the Lexus Chase at Leopardstown. His owners have been very patient as he's had a very stop start career with ulcers but we hope that's all sorted now. You'd have to think he could be a Gold Cup horse after that. I just hope he's not a mud lark horse but I don't think he is.
Lenabane battles well at Punchestown
He showed guts there which we thought he lacked. He's a stayer a real three mile chaser and we'll probably go for the Grade 1 three mile chase at Leopardstown over the Christmas.
Lynch wins aboard Tasman
He ran a binder in the Troytown, he was badly hampered by the winner four from home. I couldn't believe he was such a big price here today. We're after dropping him back in trip a bit now. We're in no hurry with him, Andrew is mad to go for the Topham Chase at Aintree. We'll try and find something for him over the Christmas. He's a horse that doesn't take a lot of work, he's a joy to train and he's well minded at home. Hopefully the handicapper won't be too hard on us after that. He's a fabulous jumper.
Our Girl Salley takes last
She's an absolute dream to train and she has wonderful temperament. I think she has a lot of potential. We will probably go for another bumper as she's only four and she's not fully mature yet. Her owner's have been wonderful and get great pleasure of out their winners and I'm just delighted for them.
