Well-bred and well-backed Caravation off the mark over fences
We got the rub of the green. The other horse was travelling well at the time and there was still all to play for,. We're delighted with the way she jumped today and you couldn't have asked for any better really. She had the experience and we're delighted to get off the mark. We might look for a winners of one before pitching her in at the deep end. We'll stick to mares races if we can.
Cash Back 2 from 2 over fences with impressive Naas display
It was a very good performance and there was a lot of improvement from his Navan run,. I was a bit worried the ground was drying out but it didn't seem to bother him. He jumped very well and hopefully he keeps improving. Danny was very positive on him and they get on well. We'll see where we go from here, I'm not sure what his next target will be. We'll see whether he goes for the Dublin Racing festival, and the Arkle there, or we find another two mile race. He has a good style of running and jumping. He likes to get at his racing and jumping. Tornado was disappointing there but hopefully we can sort out whatever was up with him. Paul said he wasn't travelling at all at any stage.
O'Grady delighted to put win on the board for Class of '67 Racing Club
It's been a bit frustrating because every horse I've run over Christmas and the New Year has been in the money and no one of them won,. I'm delighted to get that for the boys and that this horse won. There might be another one in him somewhere. Maybe I shouldn't have been running him in the summer, maybe he didn't like the faster ground. Certainly he's come to himself and is jumping very well too. There is a race in Gowran, over two-miles-two, in February and I think that trip might suit him. I was afraid with having a 7lb claimer the last day and also having gone up a pound. Maybe the handicapper won't be too unkind to him. The handicapper can be proud today!
Mullins doubles up at Naas with Asterion Forlonge
It was a nice positive performance from him. I think he'll want much further in trip and I'll be going out in trip with him now,. I'll probably look for a novice hurdle over two-and-a-half miles rather than two miles.
Abraham caps a good day at Naas for Brassil
I had been happy with his work. I believe he wants real good ground so I was worried it might be a bit on the slow side for him. I thought the trip was going to help him. He'd never ran further than two over hurdles and I just felt he definitely needed a little bit further. I'd say two miles was just getting on the short side for him. I was very pleased with the run. The winner has that much more experience and miles under his belt, in good company. We'd be very pleased in his first run out of maiden company. He stays and I'd say he could be a better horse when he has more horses around him too. We'll probably enter him for the two-mile-six at Leopardstown but he could go straight for the Ballymore.
Thedevilscoachman creates excellent impression with bumper win
We knew he was nice but with all the talk about everything else it sort of put us off, between Galileos and Dubawis and stuff like that we were starting to get edgy,. He surprised me a bit how well he quickened up. We had another one coming along and the lads were sort of thinking it's the other one we should have run but we obviously ran the right one. He's a nice horse. I was underbidder on him when he was sold as a yearling, Micky Maguire, Jason's brother, bought him for Joe Duke that owns him. When he was going into training they said they'd send him to me. We had him last spring and did a little bit with him. It works out well with those four-year-olds to do a little bit with them in the spring. I'd say he's quite a smart horse. He certainly won't be jumping, this spring anyway, so we'll look for another bumper. Eoin rides well. He's doing well with what he's getting and he's good value for 7lb.
