Buttons And Bows springs 25/1 surprise on debut
She is a lovely filly and I trained her mother to win five races and she was actually our 500th winner at the time. She won her maiden hurdle so we won't get too excited and will move along from here and see what's coming up. She likes a cut in the ground. I wasn't really surprised myself she won as she was going very well at home but I didn't know what we'd meet today. She is a brilliant jumper and is stronger than her mother. It's great to win a race for J.P. and he bought her mother after she won a flat race and she won a maiden hurdle for him at Listowel.

Winter provides Howard with biggest success to date
He travelled very well and was even a little bit fresh in Mark's hands. He got to the front a little bit early but he did it well. I'm delighted to have him. He does everything very easy at home and haven't anything to work with him at the minute. The Drinmore could be a plan but I'm going to leave it up to the lads. Trip-wise, Mark said he wouldn't have any trouble coming back to two miles as he is a very very quick horse.
Outsider claims his sixth career win
we’re in real bonus territory with him now because that’s his sixth win for the yard. I expected him to run well — I couldn’t believe he drifted in the betting - but he did it easy in the end. He was up there all the way and that’s the best way to ride him. Paul had a word with Danny Mullins, who normally rides him, and he was excellent on him today. He’s very versatile trip-wise, and he’ll even go on a bit of soft ground. It’s really about if you can get away in front on him and dictate it on his terms, like he did today. I think that’s more important to him than the trip. We’ll see what the handicapper does with him, but we'll be looking for something similar.
Out Sam leads home 1,2 for Elliott in the Cork National
He travelled and jumped everywhere. He had been so disappointing last year I didn't know whether to send him or sit but he was full going to the second last and had enough to get to the line. It was very important to win and it's also my first time winning it. My sponsor Danny Charlesworth, of Citipost, and a few of his buddies own him and it's great for them and they are big supporters of the yard and of me. I'm a bit surprised he won although I thought he might run in the money. He'd been off a long time and I'd expect him to come on for the run.
Slatterys eyeing Cheltenham trip
he jumped great, is very consistent and Cathal gets on very well with him. We might bring mammy and daddy (owners Margaret and Billy Slattery, along with Sean Hennessy) to Cheltenham for the novice handicap on the Friday of the November festival. We normally sell everything and he's on the go a long time but he was unlucky in his point to points and if they had gone right, he'd have been sold. Daddy, mammy and Sean Hennessy, a friend of theirs, are having great fun out of him.
