The Mcgregornator delivers knockout blow
He lost his action coming out of the stalls the last day and Gary minded him. The more you get stuck into him, the more he finds. He liked that ground and was probably the most effective on it today. He'll get six furlongs, and maybe even seven.
Ceol proves too good for Waitaki
Her trip is a mile but we thought this would take a bit of getting today. We will be looking at Stakes races with her now.
Mr Right continues sprint up the ratings
Onenightidreamed takes the Gladness
He's tough, and was a bit interfered with early on last time. He'd a lot of weight, 16lb more than last year, in the Lincoln but he came home well. He also came out of that race well. There is a Listed race at Cork in a few weeks time and also the Amethyst Stakes but it depends if it keeps raining. He'll probably go on his holidays during the summer, if we get a summer!
Found only third as Zhukova wins the Alleged
She's a nice mare. She won the Oyster Stakes last year and has grown and strengthened over the winter. My late mother bred her, and we have all the family. It was an excellent renewal of the race, and was really of a Group 1 or Group 2 standard. I'm not sure where she will go next. The Blue Wind at Naas is a possibility.
Bobos back on song at the Curragh
I was hoping he'd run well and he's gone and done it nicely. He came down a good bit in the ratings which was a big help.
Derby hope Ranger wins on debut
Pat (Smullen) rode him in some work here two weeks ago and liked him but I was a bit worried beforehand (with all the money for Dermot Weld's horse). We thought he was very nice last year but he had a small problem and didn't run. He has only done half speed work for Donnacha but has worked well with horses that have Group race form. I told Ryan to drop him in and educate him. He has a great pedigree but has only won a maiden. That was the most serious bit he has ever been asked to do. He could go for something like the Derrinstown or to Chester for education. He'll only have one more run if he goes to the Derby.
