Curvature relishes testing conditions to make all
We got it a bit wrong sending her to Dundalk as she loved that slow ground today. We might try and find a bit of black type with her soon rather than later. She’s a nice filly and one we did like last year but we were a bit disappointed with her two runs up in Dundalk. She showed us there today what she had been showing at home. We had race fitness on our side with her run in February. We knew she was fit and ready to go and from her wide draw there was no point in getting her to slot in so the plan was to let her roll forward.

Birch battles to record Ballysax surprise
Absolutely delighted with that. He relaxed lovely early on and quickened up really well. He got a good bump about a furlong down but he’s a very honest horse and stayed lengthening the whole way to the line. We are delighted with that and he could be very good. He’s done what we always thought he could do. We’ll have a chat now with the owners and make a decision on where we are going to go. We said we would learn a lot today going up to a mile and a quarter on this ground and it seemed no issue to him. He’s hasn’t any classic entries but he could get some yet! We’ll see how he comes out of this and make a plan from there. He had a lovely run first time out in Naas on heavy ground so we thought he’d get through it today alright. He floated around Dundalk over seven and showed a lot of speed so he could be very versatile ground wise and clearly going a mile and quarter was no issue either. He could be a very exciting horse.
Murtagh and Powell team up with 20/1 Signora Bellissima
It’s great to get the first winner of the season on the board. I didn’t know about the trip and was just hoping that she would stay the distance. Jamie said that she got through the ground really well. She probably needed his 5lb and was running out of steam. We’ll keep her at a mile and a quarter and she has probably strengthened up a bit from two to three. Hopefully she will keep going and we will probably get her out soon rather than later while the ground is the way it is. She did quicken up well but it’s a long way up the straight today. Jamie is good value for that 5lb.

Gown comes good in style
She handles most types of ground but wouldn’t want it firm and she has got stronger this year. She is in again on Wednesday. The horses have been running well since the start of the season.
