Future looking bright for Evidence
.We've got him back and it's great as he had two-and-a-half years off. I'm delighted with him,. He was coming back to himself on his last two runs and was unlucky not to finish closer at Naas last time when a horse fell in front of him. The ground was a little bit better today and he appreciated that. Punchestown is the aim with him and we'll probably step him up to three miles. He could probably run at Fairyhouse before that and then he'll go on to jump fences next season.
Dark gains cosy success
Davy said beforehand the ground was not much worse than Punchestown but I was a bit worried about him over the 2m2f,. He's not used to going that bit slower and was getting a bit thick with them. But he enjoyed himself. After Punchestown I've never seem a horse eat up like him and he was very fresh. We were very happy with him.
Walsh shines on Tarkari
He gave him a terrific ride. Even after getting in trouble before the last, when he had no room, and missing the last he still produced him to win,. He's improving all the time. He'll probably get an entry for the County Hurdle but could skip it and go to Fairyhouse and Punchestown.
Cadspeed gains overdue win
We just decided to take the bull by the horns today,. The horses he's been second to have been running well and winning well. We knew we were fit so decided to jump out and be up there. We'll go the novice route with him. On the evidence of his jumping today he's cyring out for fences. It would be terrific to win another one with him this season and he'll go jumping fences next year.
Irish National on cards for Stewarts
I'm very happy with that performance. He did used to have a tendency to jump out to the right but has got out of that,. He always ran well here over hurdles and is settling better now. I'm thinking of the Irish National after that. It depends on the top-weight but he could get himself into it near the bottom. There is not a lot else here for him. There is the Topham at Aintree or maybe Punchestown. He might even be a Galway Plate horse as he goes on good ground.
Vic battles well to land hat-trick
Ruby said he settled great and it opens up a lot of longer trips for me,. He's still in the RSA Chase and after today's victory we'll have to have a think about it. I had been going for the Power Gold Cup and probably at the end of the day he'll go to Fairyhouse but we have to think about the other race. He's bred to get a trip but the only problem I had with him was that he wasn't settling. He seems to be improving.
Sea storms home in Ryanair prep
It isn't often things go as much to plan as that. Hopefully it's onwards and upwards and I couldn't have asked for more,. The owners decided we would be as well off runnning for €26,000 as schooling after racing. It was a very delicate balancing act as we wanted a bit of work and wanted to win the race but didn't want him to have a hard race. It worked out well. Hopefully he'll come on for the race. It's his first Graded Chase and if he improves from it he must have a shout (in the Ryanair). He has won on soft but I think he's better on better ground and I think he should come to hand in the spring.
Shot on target for Cheltenham bumper
We're very lucky they didn't race at Naas last week. This horse had a rest and was supposed to start back on January 1st which became the 17th because of the weather,. Last week would have been too soon for him. We got a gallop into him last Saturday instead and that helped for today. Hopefully he comes on for it. If the owners wishes to go he'll travel (to Cheltenham). I think he's a horse that has improved quite a bit and hopefully he improves a bit more.
