Marina looks nice winning on 2nd start
She ran well at Gowran and obviously stepped up from that. She goes on the ground which helps, and I'd say she will get a mile. She could run again this year.
Eziyra an appropriate winner of Weld Park
She's been very consistent and that was an excellent performance. That's it for this year,. I hope she will develop into an Irish 1,000 Guineas filly next year. We put the hood on to help her to settle as she was a bit keen the last day. I see her as a miler next year. Pat (Smullen) maintains she wants good ground as she is not the strongest of fillies physically, and she has a beautiful action.
The Happy Prince "really enjoying it now"
More Beresford joy for O'Brien
I was very impressed with all three colts. They went a nice pace and came up the middle so they had to learn,. Capri is a nice moving horse and should prefer better ground. All three should definitely get a mile and a quarter, and if they are good over that they should get a mile and a half. They are all bred for it. Ryan was very happy. He kept quickening and was surprised they came with him. Next week could be a bit quick for them to run again but we certainly will look at the Racing Post for all three. You learn the same as we do when we run them against each other. Sometimes we get surprised and sometimes not.
Winters and Mullins win Amateur Derby
He ran a great race in Listowel where he had to go wide, and three strides further he would have been up,. It took a while to figure him out last year, and my horses were not right this year. He'll get an entry in the Cesarewitch. He's not an easy ride, and Patrick gave him a great ride. The syndicate (the Theos Well grouping) are from Cork and Limerick, and one fella is from Mayo.
Placed hurdler wins Joe McGrath
Payment for Bolger fans with Curragh brace
Owner insists and gets his reward
He settled well in front and it's hard to come from behind in that ground. He was overdue a win,.
